Last night I played on perhaps the most selfish team I've encountered yet. They cared nothing for team play, and--no surprise here--ended up getting pounded.

If people don't play as a team, they will lose. It's that simple. If you want to be a lone ranger, play DM.

What do I mean by play as a team? Here's a few pointers that the team from last night really needed:

1. GIVE RIDES. Nobody likes to walk.
2. DON'T STEAL VEHICLES. If someone beeps at you and jumps out of a manta, DO jump on top and crouch. DON'T jump in and fly away.
3. DON'T TAKE ALL THE AMMO. Take one, and leave the other for a teammate
4. HEAL VEHICLES. If you see that the tank has a sliver of health, heal it!
5. DON'T HATE YOUR TEAM. If things aren't going well, don't complain about your ****ty team.

When people don't do these things, that's what gives UMG a bad name. For just about any team sport there's nothing better than playing on a team where people are cooperating and working together. Usually you end up thumping your opponents.

6. DON'T BE A NOOB. there is nothing worse than having a sh!thead(s) in your team. (yes, we were all sh!theads at one point in our lives. Razz )

7. ALWAYS HEAL YOUR TEAM'S TANKS.... Laughing

all, luckily i luv ut04 sooo much or i would of stopped playing a while ago. i noticed, especially since UMG#1 started using the 28 player setup, that veteran player campers teach the new ppl bad habits which usually cost a win for all. it gets so crazy when u got like 6 mantas all come to base and spawnkill. sometimes it seems like a manta is spawnkilling but what alot of ppl dont realize is u must keep moving around base in manta or u will get fragged, so it is understanding for the most part. i just get very Razz razzed when mantas come to base just to camp and spawnkill only, they dont even try to hit core. so pardon me when i get a little talkative durring matches. some things will never change so we just need to get used to it and learn to anticipate manta movements in the base. throw avrils early towards corners of base and throw shock and combos all the time. Wink peace
tip: when hitting raptors, tanks, and benders, throw avril and let it hit target, then quickly change to shock/lg for most efficient hit damage.
also, when yer team is losing, use vehix to hit tanks and benders first thing. it sux when u come walkin out of the base just to eat a cannon shell or laser. always support yer team. its easier to hit a target that is not aiming at u. lol

I agree. Any team strategy usually wins.

Also, very important, learn to read the map and prioritize objectives. Too many selfish people go for corner node and disregard middle. If the opposing team is building middle and you still have your corner, go after the middle immediately in almost all circumstances.

well im not sure bout that a 40% of the games are lost due to leaving corner uncovered, the key is to know when to be at 3 and when to be at corner, thats what i do. i.e: you see 3 ppl linking corner, go straight up to middle.

And yes middle is priority.

its hard to make judgement of whether to build corner node or go to middle without communication. like att said, if u see middle going up without being attacked, then touch tank node pad and go to middle.
also, when going to middle, especially at start of match, dont just drive manta with passengers straight from prime to middle, go up and around back side or just take it slow and make sure enemy is not waiting for u with avrils and bender.

What I mean is when 3 mantas go to enemy corner and ignore the middle node being built. Too many times I've seen this. Sure they take down that corner node for a moment but they lose the game up the middle. I just won a match just like this a few minutes ago.

I have to say that that is my favorite moment of any game, when your team is losing and mantas, raptors and people come in the base, I just love to kill them, pwnage shock combos from above, flaks in faces, I just love it, sometimes I only spec a match, and at the end I join the losing team, I enjoy it very much.
