My admin login keybind is R, next to T which is say. Sometimes when I go to talk I hit that admin login keybind by accident, which I'm sure plenty of people in UT3 can tell you as I will "login" sometimes 4 times in under a minute. This is true, about a couple days ago I was in Warfare map, and someone was camping the base tower with sniper being of no use, so I said "get off tower and help" or something to those lines. No kick involved. If he would have shouted simply "shut up" back, he wouldn't have been kicked. |
How do you bind the admin login key? I've been trying to figure this out myself. Is it in the ini somewhere? I'm only asking cause I'm an admin on a server. |

Surely you must understand why an individual would be hesitant to say anything like that to you if they just saw you log in as an admin and immediately thereafter give them an order?

I don't understand if you are asking me something. When I logged in with the situation Hinter was talking about, it was an accidental keypress, no one was kicked and I didn't have to warn about anything (ie nothing happened other than me as a player asking another player to leave base and help at a node, no drama). In the situation Rub is talking about, I had already logged in when Joel and Fukhead kept typing racist comments. I had already asked for the nonsense to stop when Rub went on his rant binge. After having enough of Fuk and Rub not heeding my warning, I had to disconnect and enter webadmin, since UT3 has admin function issues that when you select someone to take action on it will randomly choose another name (other admins can attest to this).

From Bob, server owner:
"This can be done by going here “ My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config ”. In this folder you will find an ini file called 'UTInput.ini' open this file up and add this line of code to the [Engine.PlayerInput] section of the ini file “Bindings=(Name="R",Command="adminlogin password")”. When you do this you can login to admin by hitting the key R."
I need to go back and change my bind from R to something not right next to chat keys, and not so confusing as my teamsay chat button in 2k4 is R, so if I don't hit it by accident I hit it cause of habit from 2k4. |

someone was botting in the chicago bomb server under the name of Tillis. I guess he hasn't got the memo that you now go by Titlis.

Ah my adoring fans! Just curious, was he full on aimbotting or toggling?Last botter I caught was toggling and under the names "Data" and "Lucky". One thing I will say, at least the botters I nail have the decency not to come in here making threads crying admin abuse, and if they decide to screw with me at least don't make the attempted insult of "accidently" skewing my name.
P.S. for future notice, calling me titty twister is much more humorous than "titlis". Of course the down side is if you are whining from admin action, that would make you the titty "twistee". So the haha is on you. |

It was full on aimbotting. I drove the manta from blue base to the primary node, he shocked me from the hill above 3 like 5 or 6 times w/o missing and I said 'Tillis, ***!' and another player said naw, that's not Tillis, just an aimbotter aliasing.

I take it you keep the ban button nearby too? Seeing as you banned somebody for correctly pointing out a player who clearly broke the UMG rules.

Initially I tried to give him a warning, so I wouldn't have to kick or ban. It had started with "JoelFK" something being racist, then fukhead started in. And for the record I was saying I try NOT to ban, but give warnings and kicks. Apparently warnings and kicks don't apply or have effect on people looking to make themselves a sideshow on forum.

Proof positive that the admins shouldn't be allowed to boot or ban just because someone says something cross to him/her. I had no idea he was truly an admin. As I said earlier, my son does the same thing on game servers all the time and he isn't an admin anywhere! So, just because he is constantly warning someone proves nothing. That is EXACTLY why FUKHEAD kept saying that after every warning!
And as for the ban issue. Funny thing is for the following hour I couldn't get back on the server. So, I made the assumption that I had been banned. |
