1)The virus has been completely removed right? Which one was it?
2)XP seems to be crashing before it gets to your startup list. Its likely a corrupt or missing system file (or driver).
in safe mode...
1) run eventvwr.msc. i.e start->run-> type eventvwr.msc->press enter
2) open the system log. Go through the last few log entries to see what failed. |
In the origin column it says Service Control Manager and DCOM are teh last 2 things with error messages |

Both DCOM and Service Control Manager are involved in starting other services and programs.
Double click on the error and look in the description to see what caused it to fail. Verify that the time at which it failed matches when you got the last bluescreen. |

| bluescreen or restart. Did the timing of those errors match when the PC restarted? |

yes, cause they are all within a minute which is about the time the PC kept restarting over and over |

the last one that failed probably caused the crash/restart. Is your list ordered by time?
Let the PC boot normally and restart (note the time), when it does restart switch it off wait for a few minutes and then start it in safe mode. This will show a delay in the error logs between when the PC was starting in safe mode and the crash. |

There are a bunch of Network related services in your list:
IPSec - encryption for the Internet protocol (IP)
MRxSmb -used by SMB (Server Message Block) network shares
NetBIOS -network
NetBT -network
RasAcd -RAS Automatic Connection Driver
Rdbss -The RDBSS device driver used only by the Microsoft SMB mini-redirector.
Tcpip -microsoft TCP/IP driver
try:
1)disable network services that you wont need (NETBIOS and SMB)
i.e Run services.msc and set the service "TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper" to disabled, restart normally
info: http://www.petri.co.il/what%27s_port_445_in_w2k_xp_2003.htm
2)as a backup plan only:
disable all your network adapters (device manager or run devmgmt.msc) in safe mode and then start the PC. |

Most of the event viewer messages you are posting are related just to Safe Mode starts.
But you might try Safe Mode with Networking support and see if you get there. But re-enable any disabled networking services before trying.
From the F8 boot menu do you see an option to disable "automatic restart"? If so select that.
You can also do this in Safe Mode by running sysdm.cpl > Advanced > Startup and Recovery. Uncheck "automacically restart". While you are there make sure "Small Minidump" is selected as the dump type. The save to directory should by %systemroot%\minidump%
If you are getting BSODs and can get to Safe Mode, do this >>
1 > create a new folder on the desktop and call it "dumpcheck" or whatever you like
2 > navigate to c:\windows\minidump and copy the last few minidump files to that folder. *this assumes 'c' is your boot drive, if it is not, subsitute accordingly
3 > close the folder and right click on it and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder.
Email it to me at:
rollinrog [at] techguy.org
replace the [at] with @
I can run a debugger on it and perhaps see what is going on. _________________ The time has come, To talk of many things: Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax, Of cabbages--and kings-- And why the sea is boiling hot-- And whether pigs have wings. |

Run a repair install. No risk of data loss done properly and it should fix it right up. _________________

Repair installs will reinstall original system files and most, but not all, default system registry settings.
If there is malware on the system -- it will still be there.
All updates will need to be reinstalled following any repair install. _________________ The time has come, To talk of many things: Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax, Of cabbages--and kings-- And why the sea is boiling hot-- And whether pigs have wings. |
