I have no idea either. Because the comment was not towards the person who called me a racist like 50 times after the fact.

You don't have to direct comments like that at someone specific for it to be racist. |

Erm... I'm pretty sure you do. And I'm not racist just because I said nigger. If you aren't directing that word at anyone then no one should take offense. And if att takes racism so seriously, how come devil didn't get banned? He called me a cracker among things after we said that. The only difference was he was directing them towards us. It's not like we dragged it out like he did.     [/i]

| Well you are using a word that is considered to be a racist word. Folks who use those words tend to have racist thoughts and that is why they use those words. At least, thats what my college psychology teacher told me :<. He was an idiot but he had a PHD in psychology, so I would assume he is right. |

Ok, first of all, a word or phrase doesn't have to be directed at a target to be racist in nature. If you want to keep thinking you can run around calling your friends ni**ers and no one will ever take offense to it, you just keep thinking that all the way to the hospital after you say it in earshot of the wrong person.
Secondly, you don't have to be a member of the group in question to take offense at racism.
Third, it's time you came out of your bubble where you think everything should be equal. Did you miss the last 500 years of American history? Black people are allowed to take offense at things that we aren't. There's a lot about the social system that's in place that's unfair. Wishing it was fair doesn't make it so. Frankly, I'd have a laugh if you called me whitey or cracker.
To sum it up: I don't care if you're a good person. I don't care if you accept other races as equal. However, there are rules in place here, not to mention just plain common decency (not too common though). Respect the rules or you will be punished. In the case of racism there is ZERO tolerance.
To answer your last actual point: You were banned after the fact because att was afk when you said it. Didn't matter if you'd stopped. Banning was the punishment.
